Hemse Mug, Handmade

This Viking Age drinking vessel is based on a find from Hemse on Gotland, Sweden. It has a unique design with a handle which is rarely seen in Viking Age finds. The vessel is wholly handmade without a potter’s wheel, just as the original was made over 1000 years ago.

In order to make it more durable and easier to clean, it’s made from stoneware with a glazed inside. This allows it to be washed in a dish washer and it can also withstand a microwave oven.

  • Holds approx. 3 dl (10 oz)
  • Handmade stoneware
  • Based on a historical find
  • The inside glazing isĀ matt
  • Due to the new regulations for US packages shipped from abroad, this product will be subject to checks from FDA, FWS and/or APHIS.
This could lead to short delays on orders containing this item.
Grimfrost will, however, cover all associated costs of these shipments such as import taxes, tariffs and inspections.
